shooting+driving=dangerous, Golden Gate Bridge
I guess the sign should say “amateur photographers, don’t drive and shoot”. I almost did not take that picture since I was driving and obviously it’s a terrible idea to fumble through your bag with one hand, grab the camera, take the cap off the lens, find the power button while not looking at camera, try to remember what was last setting used hoping it’s not macro high iso, continue looking at the road holding the steering wheel with one hand, slowing down to not pass rainbow completely but not too much as to not infuriate fellow drivers behind, trying to position the camera so that it vaguely kind of make sense (ie at least bridge and rainbow in same pic) but of course without looking at LCD screen (too easy), still completely focusing on the road, and then erratically (and quite franticly not to say like a complete maniac) pressing the shutter button hoping for the best all while whispering in my teeth “j’le crois pas, j’le crois pas” (bon d’accord ce n’est pas exactement ce que je murmurais dans mes dents mais je ne peux pas l’ecrire la quand meme…). And I pondered soooooo long to go for it that I almost missed the shot! I think this is my first photo of the GG bridge in 12 years in San Francisco, I always avoided it, finding it too obvious, even though it’s really beautiful. Carine – week #16 – jan 28, 2011.
