Another infamous wall to answer Veronique’s image this week… I took this photo back in 2004. It is actually quite difficult to find remnants of the wall as it has been thoroughly destroyed. People have fought to preserve parts of it intact and the most asked question around the area is “where is the wall?”. This small portion encaptures the desesperation and determination of people who managed, sometimes using fierce ingeniosity, sometimes pure bravado and in any case always enormous courage, to escape from the East. – Carine week #17 – feb 6, 2011.
